SERVICE TYPE
Annual Exam:
This visit is for females. It includes a pelvic exam, a pap smear, and breast exam. A female can also request testing for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, HIV, and Syphilis at this time. If symptoms of Herpes, HPV/genital warts or other infections are present, additional testing can be done. This visit can only be done once a year.
BCM Refill:
This visit is for females. It includes a consultation with a clinician or nurse. It is strictly for a refill or restart on birth control pills, the ring, and the birth control patch. This visit is also for the birth control shot.
BCM HOPE:
This visit is for females. It includes a consultation with a clinician or nurse. This visit is done once a year and allows females to get hormonal methods of birth control without an exam. An annual exam is still required within one year. Testing for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea can be requested at this appointment.
Pap:
This visit is for females. It detects abnormal cells on the cervix that could be cancerous. This examination can be done every 6 months to a year or as advised by your health care provider. A female can also request testing for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, HIV, and Syphilis at this time. If symptoms of Herpes, HPV/genital warts or other infections are present, additional testing can be done.
Emergency Contraception (EC):
This visit is for females. It includes a consultation with a clinician or nurse. It prevents pregnancy up 120 hours after unprotected sex. A female can also receive hormonal birth control at this visit. EC is also available over the counter to men and women age 18 and over.
HIV/AIDS testing and Education:
HIV results are most accurate when testing is done 6 months after possible exposure. Results are available within 2 weeks. HIV testing is done by a blood draw. HIV counseling referral services and HIV treatment referral services are available. Education and confidential (private) testing for HIV are provided by trained staff that is sensitive to your needs and concerns. Testing for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Syphilis can also be requested at this time.
Male Health Services:
A male can get STD testing with or without symptoms a testicular exam, and receive condoms.
Pregnancy Test and Education:
Testing is done through a urine sample. We will only draw blood for a pregnancy test if it’s medically needed or upon patient’s request. An accurate pregnancy test can be done as soon as she has a missed period or 14 days after a specific act of intercourse that she is concerned about. She will receive results at that visit. If results are positive, we offer referrals for prenatal care, adoption and abortion. If results are negative, birth control can be requested.
STD testing/treatment without signs or symptoms:
A patient can get a urine and blood test for a STD screening if they have no visible signs or symptoms. Results are available within 2 weeks. A female can also request birth control at this time.
STD/Infection Check and treatment with signs or symptoms:
A patient can get a urine and blood test, visual exam for any visible bumps/rash or have a sample of discharge examined for any possible infections or STDs. Results are available within 2 weeks and sometimes the same day. A female can also request birth control at this time.
